PATRICIA ETHEL WILLIAMS Peacefully, April 23, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer, Pat Williams of Winnipeg passed away quietly at the age of 75 at Riverview Health Centre. Born October 7, 1930 on the family farm in the R.M. of Odanah, Pat was educated in Winnipegosis, Arden and Belmont. Pat began teaching in 1949 and continued teaching for 42 years. Pat taught in various locations including Churchill, MB and for 28 years she taught at C.F.B. Shilo. She obtained Undergraduate Degrees in Arts and Education, and a Masters Degree from the University of Manitoba. She lead an active life with her volunteer work at the Victoria General Hospital, her activities with the Retired Women Teachers Society, Manitoba Teachers Society, Winnipeg Symphony, Manitoba Theatre Centre, Book Club and her extensive travels. She was a faithful member of the Anglican Church and kept in touch with many friends, former colleagues and students. Pat was very involved with her family and was an example of grace, courage and humour to us all. Pat was predeceased by her parents, Mr and Mrs. H.L. Williams, an infant sister Beth and her brother-in-law Jim McBurney. Pat is survived by her sister Mabel (Hugh) McCamis, sister Jean McBurney, nephews Dr. Robert (Betty) McCamis, Lorne (Tracy) McCamis, Gregg (Brenda) McCamis, and great nieces and nephews Kathy, Scott, Neil, Kaylee, Brad and Elmer. Cremation has taken place. A graveside ceremony will take place in Brandon, MB in the Brandon Cemetery at the family plot on Saturday, April 29 at 1:00 p.m. A reception will be held afterward at the Victoria Inn in Brandon at 2:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 13 at 2:00 p.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be given to a charity of your choice.
